Term 2

Speaking - use an appropriate volume when speaking in class; follow simple instructions containing up to 3 key words (Liii)

Writing - identify middle and/or dominant sounds in words and link to letters to attempt to spell words; use high frequency words in each phrase/sentence; reread writing to check for meaning (L1ii)

Reading -  identify rhyme, rhyming words and alliteration; participate in activities relating to rhyme, word endings/families (L1i)

Term 1

Speaking - accept “no” as an answer, by staying calm and then moving onto another task (without an adverse reaction), once a day

Writing - use more high frequency words in his writing; use a picture to help generate a sentence (Liii)        

Reading -   point to each word as he reads a story; look at the pictures to gauge meaning; identify words that begin with “sh and th” in simple texts; re-read own sentences to check they make sense (Liii)

2017

Term three
Reading  -   to point to each word as he reads a story.  He is learning to look at the pictures so that he knows what the words say.
- to look at the letter at the beginning of a word to help him sound out familiar text.

Writing - To write a simple sentence on the line and reread it pointing 1 to 1.
