Helping Hands!

Thanks Hayze, for helping me to load the dishwasher today. I like the way you turned the bowls and cups around so that fit nicely and weren't all piled on top of each other. I hope you're just as helpful at home ;) You are a superstar!

How do you feel today?

IEP: Hayze will express his emotions and describe why he feels that way

Hayze is telling his friend Connor that he feels happy today. When I asked him why, he said "it's going to the gym!" It was lovely to see Hayze beginning to link his feelings with actions and experiences; the next step is for him to use words effectively to describe his negative emotions.

Keeping it quiet

IEP: I can use my inside voice in class

\
Hayze, you understand that when the arrow sits on the red side of the "noise-o-meter", that you need to use a quieter speaking voice. It was lovely to see you use the noise-o-meter independently today- this shows that you understand when you are using your inside voice.

Skip counting

Maths: I can skip count in 2s, 5s and 10s

Hayze practiced skip counting in 2s by filling in the missing numbers (even, every other number) on a 100-square. He made it all the way to 100! Fab work Hayze! The next step is for you to count in 2s, without using a visual support.

Listen up!

Speaking: I can follow instructions with 3 key words

At the art table, Hayze and Cody worked on painting apples for our letter "a" display. I gave Hayze the instruction: "paint the big apple green". When I returned a while later, here he was painting the large apple green. Well done Hayze, great listening! The next step is for Hayze to follow instructions that form part of his daily routine, to help him operate more independently in class.
